Dr Edgardo Santos is the founding partner of Florida Precision Oncology Research & Consulting and Medical Director of Research Services in Aventura, FL. He is an associate/affiliate professor in the department of medicine at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. He obtained his medical degree in 1994 at the University of Panama School of Medicine. He completed his internship I and II in Panama, then completed an internal medicine residency and hematology/oncology fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. He is currently a staff physician at Memorial Hospital West, GenesisCare, and Aventura Hospital.
Dr Santos is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Publishing Research Group and former member of the ASCO Practice Guidelines Implementation Network. He is a member of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer Membership Committee and on the board of directors of the FLASCO Foundation. He is an investigator on 12 ongoing clinical trials and participated in many more past trials, including with Southwest Oncology Group and Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group.
He has authored or coauthored 10 book chapters and almost 100 peer-reviewed journal articles. He has also published more than 100 abstracts. He serves on the editorial board of Expert Review of Anticancer Therapy, Recent Patents on Biomarkers, and Clinical Practice and is a reviewer for more than a dozen other journals.
